Introduction
In the heart of a peaceful village called Pura, there lived
a young man named Grush and his wise, hardworking grandma, Bimbi. This is a
short moral story about the value of staying active, eating healthy, and
working hard—values that Bimbi instilled in Grush. Through this tale, kids will
learn the importance of health, hard work, and generosity.
Story:
Grush lived with his grandma, Bimbi, in the small village of
Pura. Even at 69, Bimbi was strong and healthy, always busy in the fields,
growing crops and helping other farmers. Bimbi’s lifestyle was filled with
activity and healthy eating, something she wanted Grush to learn, too.
Grush, however, wasn’t very interested in school or studies.
He only barely finished high school and told Bimbi he didn’t want to study
further. Bimbi encouraged him, “Grush, to get good education. A good education will help you find a secure job!” But Grush wasn’t
interested in that either.
One day, Grush had an idea. “Granny,” he said, “I’ll work in
the fields with you!” And he did. He learned everything Bimbi knew about
farming and worked very hard. Seeing this, Bimbi was proud of him. Before she
passed away, she told him, “Grush, remember to work hard every day.
For a while, Grush honored Bimbi’s advice. But one
afternoon, while digging in the field, he struck something solid—THUNK! Grush
was curious and dug faster, pulling up an enormous, old trunk. Inside, he found
sparkling gold coins, jewelry, and all kinds of treasures!
Grush was thrilled. “I’m rich!” he thought. “I don’t need to
work anymore!” So, he quit working in the fields and began living a life of
leisure. He started eating junk food every day and rarely moved, believing he
was young and didn’t need to worry about health. But soon, he began to feel
tired and had a stomach-ache.
After days of pain, Grush visited the doctor, who happened
to be his uncle. His uncle said, “Grush, you have high cholesterol and are
overweight. Your diet and lack of exercise are harming your health!”
Grush tried eating healthy and drinking green veggie juice,
but it didn’t last long. Only two weeks later, he could barely get out of bed.
The doctor advised him, “Remember your grandma’s words. Hard work and a healthy
lifestyle are more valuable than gold.”
Grush finally realized his mistake. He returned to the
fields, cooked healthy meals for himself, and exercised daily. A year later, he
was fit, strong, and full of energy. He even shared his treasure with people in
need, realizing that true wealth wasn’t gold but good health, kindness, and a
sense of purpose.
Moral of the Story: This story teaches kids
that to be healthy and happy, we must work hard, stay active, and eat a
balanced diet. Hard work, healthy eating, and staying active are treasures that
last a lifetime!
